The goal of this program is to improve the treatment of diabetes. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will better be able to: 1.Assess patients risk for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). 2.Identify patients with sufficiently high risk for ASCVD that they should automatically receive statin therapy. 3.Choose the appropriate intensity of statin therapy for individual patients. 4.Treat patients who fail to achieve the anticipated therapeutic response on statins.
