This interactive case study will address the monitoring and management of cardiovascular disease in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The case will discuss the need for extra vigilance in patients with inflammatory arthritis. Appropriate monitoring of RA patients for cardiovascular risk is presented. Recommendations from the National Lipid Association are presented, and commentary from actual RA patients regarding their experiences with RA and heart disease is included.
