The goal of this program is to improve the management of diabetes. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will better be able to: 1.Reduce risk for microvascular and macrovascular complications in patients with type1 diabetes by following recommendations based on the DCCT and EDIC trials. 2.Discuss the evidence for cardiovascular safety of alogliptin. 3.Refer appropriate patients with diabetes to an ophthalmologist. 4.Allay patient fears about anti-VEGF intravitreal injections by describing the procedure, its benefits, and possible side effects.
