The goals of this activity are to improve the prevention and diagnosis of cardiovascular disease, as well as the management of patients with cardiovascular disease. After completing the activity, the clinician will be better able to: 1.Review evidence about the optimal duration of dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) and the recommendations in the recent focused update on duration of DAPT in patients with coronary artery disease. 2.Summarize lessons learned from recent studies comparing contemporary use of bare-metal stents to both first- and second-generation drug-eluting stents. 3.List issues that make it difficult to manage obese patients with heart failure and atrial fibrillation. 4.Discuss the value of digital health and mHealth (mobile health) technologies in cardiovascular care.
